The ringing of my cell phone woke me. I grabbed it off my nightstand and looked at the time. It was three in the morning. I saw that it was Reaper calling.

“Reaper, what’s up?” It had to be something serious, for him to be calling at this time. My heart jumped, wondering if something was wrong with Cheyenne and the baby. I prayed there wasn’t. It would kill Reaper if anything happened to his old lady and unborn baby.

“Ink, I need you to get your ass to the clubhouse. We’re rolling out in a few minutes. Got a call from Chief Carlton. He said the fire department was called to Alisse’s apartment. It’s on fire.”

“What the fuck? Are you kidding me? Okay, I’ll be there in five. I got to get dressed.” He hung up. My brain had trouble comprehending what he said for a second.

My raised voice roused Alisse. She rubbed her eyes and sat.
